Persephone is the Estrium Goddess of Spring and vegetation, she is also the Queen of the Underworld.
The Goddess of Spring lead a double life. Half of the year spent with her darling mother Demeter, and the other half with the Lord of the Underworld himself. Amongst her fellow Gods and Goddesses, Persephone was first known for being the embodiment of new life and cheeriness, blessing the Earth with Spring every year. Like her mother, Persephone grew up feeling very close to nature and respected it dearly. She was a bubbly, sweet and beautiful young girl, having so much ahead of her, but it was all quickly taken away one day.
She was happily skipping across the fields, talking to her flowers as she usually did, when suddenly Hades rose up from the Underworld, splitting her beloved meadow in two and frightening away every creature except the Goddess herself. He was lonely and desperate for a wife, and Zeus had promised him this natural beauty. In true Hades fashion, he chose to steal Persephone away and drag her down to the Underworld to be his Queen. First impressions were bad, and she hated the Underworld because the ground was lifeless and there was no sunshine for her to bask in. She despised Hades for taking her to a place full of death and so lacking of beauty.
